It’s welcome news in districts like Saratoga Springs, where the district covered the cost of free meals last year to the tune of $1.1 million.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students in our district beginning November 1,” said Superintendent Michael Patton in an emailed statement Thursday. “We appreciate the USDA expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to allow more schools to take advantage of this opportunity.”
