School meals for all

Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie both have expressed their commitment to feeding all students in school, but it’s a matter of allocating the money to do so. Both houses included $280 million in the budget for the issue, which was not included in Hochul’s executive budget. Advocates say the amount could feed 726,000 students across the state.
